Hands for hope…

I do not want to

Shout or scream,

To rant or rage,

Against one man and what, or those

He stands for;

Right now I feel devoid of that

I want to hope..

But where do I place my hope today?

I have hope, for despite

The darkness of the world the sun has dared to shine,

Spring bulbs have dared to push their heads above the soil

And the cycle of life and death,

Love and loss go on,

I have hope because I must believe that

Love will triumph over hate,

That goodness is stronger than evil,

That truth is stronger than lies….

I have hope because concerns are being raised,

Voices are crying out for justice.

I have hope for many seek to

Build bridges not walls,

So I will not rant or rage today,

But I will pray,

I will pray for the growth and flowering of hope,

Of peace, of love, of light and life…

I will pray for the marginalised and the secure,

For the weak and the strong,

For the broken and those who pretend to be whole…

I will pray for this world in all

Of its beauty and terror,

That wonderful things might happen….

I will not rant and rage,

But quietly and confidently I will take your hand

For hope;

Wiĺl you take mine?

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, and 2 lovely granddaughters). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off!
