Seeing….

Sometimes days come

Loaded with reminders of our brokenness,

Our divided divisiveness,

Highlighted by our need to define

The other,

Right, wrong,

Rich, poor,

Male, female,

Gay, straight,

Black, white,

Yellow, red,

And while none of us are defined completely

By any of these

The list goes on and on and on…

‘Til finally we exclude ourselves,

Tear ourselves up with denial and hate,

Retreating behind barriers

Hiding from love…

+

Still love seeks us out,

Calls us to life and light,

To begin again,

To accept our broken selves,

Daring us to open our hearts again,

To speak up for love’s cause,

We are one,

We are one,

WE ARE ONE,

Look  long into the eyes of love,

Through the eyes of love

And you will see….

A Simple Guide for Behavior

1-5 “Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faults— unless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbour’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbour.

About Sally C

How do I describe myself, I am not what I do, (I am a Methodist Minister), I am not who I am related to (I have 5 wonderful children, and 2 lovely granddaughters). I am a seeker truth, a partaker of life in all it's fullness and a follower, sometimes stumbling, sometimes celebrating of the Christian pathway. I seek wholeness, joy and a connectedness to all things through a deep reconciliation with the God whose love blows my socks off!
